JustGiving is a website which has been set up to make donating to an individual or a charity much easier.  No longer do individuals need to run around with a piece of paper asking for pledges and obtaining signatures.  Making donations through JustGiving is safe, secure and stress free; you can also leave a message of support for the fundraiser.

Here are the pages which are active at the moment. If you would like to make a donation, please simply click on the appropriate icon.

Thank you, not only to all the people making donations, but also the brave and courageous people listed below who are pushing themselves emotionally and physically in aid of Cancer Campaign in Suffolk.

Ian Baird

Paris Marathon - Sunday 11th April 2010

Carolyn Baird says "I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2007 which was a terrible shock as it came around the time of my 61st birthday, almost exactly one year after I had retired. I had worked for over 20 years as a receptionist at Framlingham Medical Practice and was really getting into and enjoying being 'free'. I had a lumpectomy in October that same year, followed by chemotherapy and then radiotherapy and my treatments lasted until April 2008. I am delighted to say that I seem to be in excellent health now and life is back to normal, including helping out occasionally on reception at the Surgery! My care and treatment at Ipswich Hospital was superb. Everyone went out of their way to be caring, kind, sympathetic and, most importantly, efficient, from Mr. Archer who was then my surgeon, Dr. Sherwin in Oncology and their teams. I visited the Cancer Care Centre at the Hospital from time to time, looking for information, enjoying the 'comfy' chairs and the excellent coffee. I also took advantage of the offer of massage and reflexology which I really appreciated. These days, I still pop in when attending for my regular check-ups.
As a small way of saying 'thank you' and showing how much everything was appreciated by me and my family, my husband Ian is running the Paris Marathon and hoping to raise a few pounds for the Cancer Campaign in Suffolk. He has never done one before and started his training about 12 months ago as an unfit and overweight pensioner of 63. He has lost a lot of weight, got really fit and even enjoys his running now. I am so proud of him and am going to Paris to support his efforts, as are our daughter and son. We will not have too much time in Paris as Ian has to return swiftly to Framlingham to appear in Framlingham Amateur Dramatic Society's production of /Pack of Lies/ starting on Wednesday 14th April."

If you would like to make a donation in support of Ian's run, please click on the icon below and make your pledge.  Alternatively, please send a cheque made payable to 'Cancer Campaign in Suffolk' and send it to 39-41 Elm Street Ipswich Suffolk IP1 2AB. Thank you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Many thanks.
